Favorite Quotes about Fashion/Accessories..So true!

When trying to explain something or express how you feel about a particular item, it can be hard to put your exact thoughts into words! I came across some good quotes about accessories, and how/why they're important to everyone, including celebrities and designers.

"Accessories are important and becoming more and more important every day. They can completely change the look of an outfit, and women like the idea of having a wardrobe that's versatile. For instance, a strong piece of jewelry can make a simple outfit look elegant." - Giorgio Armani

"It's easy to wear white head to toe if you simply add a bold piece of jewelry or other accessory."
  - Christy James

"I enjoy hats. And when one has filthy hair, that is a good accessory." - Julia Roberts

"The thing about eyewear is that it is so potent,...There are very few accessories that, if you were not wearing anything, if you put on they would take you to a whole era. You could look the Thirties, the Fifties, and the Nineties just by your eyewear. It's like a pair of shoes because it is sculptural. It exists without a face. It tells a lot about where you are architecturally or aesthetically in a particular period in time." - Tom Ford

"Boots are the easiest (fashion accessory) to wear. They're the one thing you just can't mess up."
- Marshal Cohen

"It is the unseen, unforgettable, ultimate accessory of fashion that heralds your arrival and prolongs your departure." - Coco Chanel

"Fashions fade, style is eternal." - Yves Saint Laurent

"Handbags are like accessories, only the prints change." - Sarah Rupiper

"I think the accessories look very modern and very exciting. These big earrings, these big hoops. I think the girls are sort of falling in love with...collars, neck collars." - Ralph Lauren

"In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different." - Coco Chanel

It's All About the Feathers

Feathered Trim Dress worn by Actress Jessica Alba

Various Feathered Headbands..perfect for turning a bad hair day into a stylish look!

Vanessa Hudgens sported wearing feathered earrings.. a huge hit this season!
Whether it's peacock designed or another type of bird's feathers, this trend has clearly shown up in many different types of accessories. When one hears the word feathers, they may think "oh that's too much" or "woah too crazy for me!" However, it's not as outrageous as they may think. Feathers, such as those that are designed based on a peacock, often simply add a beautiful arrange of green and purple colors with the patterns of the animal's skin. From headbands, to bracelets to even dresses, this inspiration has begun to make a bold statement in the fashion world. I personally love it, especially the peacock cuff!

Staying Trendy With Long Necklaces

My love for long necklaces seems to grow more and more everyday. I hang them on a board in my room, so that I can easily view them all when choosing which one to add to my outfit! My "long necklace board"is pictured below:

I've always been a fan of long necklaces because it's an easy way to dress up a simple dress or cute top and add flavor to your look. I believe that a simple long necklace, with just beads or a small pendant, can be just as strong in making the outfit stand out as a busier necklace. Pearls, pendants, assorted beads, a variety of stones, and more are used to create necklaces of different styles and trends.

What's my favorite necklace that I own? That's a hard one but I would have to go with my Creme tusk horn necklace pictured to the left

You could even wrap around a necklace several times to create a more layered and fulfilled look to your outfit! Actress Kate Moss poses with a long wrap around coin necklace in the following image:

Accessorizing and Looking Fab at the Oscars..Who Pulled it Off?

The Oscars Red Carpet Event last night, (and every year), is a time where we get to critique and point out some of our favorite best/worst-dressed celebrities, and equally important..best/worst-accessorized!

Giorgio Armani once said, "I design for real people. I think of our customers all the time. There is so virtue whatsoever in creating clothing or accessories that are not practical."

Dazzling, long earrings are a must-have, especially with an elegant, simple dress. On the other hand, when wearing a dress that already may have too much going on, simple, small earrings are all you need. You never want to over-accessorize!

Cuffed bracelets, or stacking several bracelets together is also a great idea when trying to add some flavor to your look. Sarah Jessica Parker did just that at the Oscars, shown below.
